In the works of Henrik Strömberg the image is composed, re-composed, suggested, ephemeral, vague, precise, sometimes comprehended, always vivid, poetic and ever-evolving. It changes in front of our eyes as we observe it, comes back with a new narrative, has a new life, opens a liminal yet cogent passage to something else, beyond.
The subjects of the photographs pulse new life. They are momentary blossoms, a heart rate, a throbbing idea, a sudden change in a normally constant flow. They are edible seeds. They are limbs of our body, extensions of stories and tales.”

“헨릭 스트롬버그의 사진 앞에선 우린, 그 이미지에 붙들려 있다. 지금의 우린 누구인지, 과거에 우린 누구였는지, 우리 주변에는 무엇이 있었고, 여전히 우리를 둘러싸고 있는 것은 무엇인지에 대한 단서를, 어렴풋이나마 짐작할 수 있는 그 무언가를 우리는 찾고 있다. 그런 우리는 세계 안으로 들어간다.
헨릭 스트롬버그 작품의 이미지는 구성되고, 재-구성되고, 암시되고, 덧없고, 모호하고, 정밀하고, 때로는 이해되기도하며, 늘 생동하고, 시적이고, 끊임없이 변화한다. 주시하는 우리의 시선을 따라 변화하고, 새로운 내러티브를 가지고 우리에게 다시 돌아오고, 새로운 생명을 가지며, 한계에 있으면서도 명확하게 드러나는 통로를 너머의 다른 무엇이 있는 곳으로 열어젖힌다.
이 사진들은 새 생명을 불어넣는다. 짧은 한때 피는 꽃들과 심장 박동, 머리를 울리는 생각들, 일상적인 흐름 속에서 일어나는 급작스러운 변화에 대한 것이다. 그리고 먹을 수 있는 씨앗이며, 우리 몸의 팔다리이며, 우리 이야기의 연장선이다.” (키아라 발치 마짜라 – Chiara Valci Mazzara)
